How much work are you agreeing to?
Use the grant’s actual guidelines—or ask the funder—then enter your own estimates. Writing, financial tracking, and technical monitoring are separate jobs.
- May I see the final-report template and an example?
- How often are written reports and spending records due?
- What student, program, or environmental data must we collect?
- Are photos, videos, permissions, or public presentations required?
- Is money paid upfront, reimbursed, or held until the final report?
- Who can approve changes to our budget or deliverables?
- Who on our team owns each requirement?
How the catalog describes workload
Lighter: Published follow-up centers on a short closeout, a small set of receipts, or brief acknowledgment. This does not mean there is no work.
Moderate: A narrative and itemized budget, several documentation tasks, or a defined interim/final reporting process.
Substantial: Repeated formal reporting, detailed evaluation, technical monitoring, or complex institutional compliance.
Unknown: The reviewed sources did not establish enough detail. Missing information never earns a lighter rating.
These describe the documented obligations, not hours promised by a funder. Application difficulty, purchasing delays, and district rules can add work independently.
